Silk Arrangements For Early/Mid Summer

The Flowers of Remembrance program is underway. New arrangements will be delivered weekly. The fresh arrangements should be cared for in the usual way, watering and grooming as the week progresses. On Wednesday, a determination will be made about the health of the arrangements and whether they will last to Friday afternoon. If not, discard the arrangements out the back door of the candle room and replace with silk.

At our last meeting, we worked in the candle room. The group chose silk arrangements to be used as a replacement for the fresh arrangements. These arrangements will be used in early and mid summer. In late summer/early fall, different arrangements will be used (I will post pictures of those as well). I hope the pictures are helpful.

Here are some pictures of the silk arrangements:

These arrangements are stored in the back of the candle room, in the area where we have stored our Christmas season items. They are on an easily accessible shelf. Here is a picture of them in their home, just so you can find them easily. You will probably recognize the shelving and the flocked Christmas trees to the far left of the picture, wrapped in plastic.

If you have any questions, please let me or Mary know. I will be working on the minutes from that meeting soon so I should be emailing them to you shortly.

MMG In Service Day

Hello, everyone!

Our next meeting will be an In-Service day instead of our regular meeting. We will gather in the candle room at the church after the 8:00 am Mass on May 17th.

The purpose of the In-Service day is to familiarize ourselves with the materials in the candle room so that we might better organize and manage our flower grooming activities. We are hoping to take an inventory of the things we have and discuss the location/arrangement of various items.

Please bring all of your questions about the flower grooming process and the location of the materials. If you're like me, and I know I am, you have questions. For me, I keep forgetting to bring these topics for discussion at our meetings. I'm hoping that actually being in our workspace will jog my memory a bit so that I can be more confident about what I am doing.

I will transcribe and distribute minutes from the meeting as questions are asked and things are discussed.

If you cannot attend the meeting, please feel free to send me your questions via email and I will ask them at the meeting.

It's a bit dusty in there, so don't wear your dry-clean-only outfit.

Here is the current calendar, updated through June 6, 2008:
